Welcome
to the 5th installment of the Resort Report.
This time we are heading to the south end of Palm
Springs to a unique treasure of
a resort quite
aptly named
“La Dolce Vita”, which of course is Italian for “The
Sweet Life”. One only has to step through the entrance
of this resort to see just how perfect the name fits. The
first thing you notice at the front gate is the fantastic backdrop
of the San Jacinto Mountains towering behind the walls of this
beautifully landscaped
property. This 20 room
gay men’s resort is
the creation of owners
Ken Stabins and Tim Phillips. Ken, who originally hails from
Rochester, New York and Tim, from Los Angeles moved to Palm Springs
in 2005 with the vision of bringing the “Sweet Life” to Palm
Springs. After closing the resort for a couple of weeks ( and giving
the whole place an “extreme makeover” ) the resort opened on
Valentine’s Day of 2005. Guests are pampered with the numerous
amenities featured in the many poolside rooms.
Among these are hard wood floors,
French doors which open to private cabanas,
patios,air-conditioning,
ceiling fans, TV/VCR’s, refrigerators, microwaves, free local
calls, direct dial phones, and wireless internet access,
and Aveda Bath Products
The suites contain full kitchens, and living rooms with either King
or Queen-sized Beds. All
the rooms are smoke free, however there is plenty of outside smoking
areas throughout the resort. For those of you who can’t leave the
“Kids” behind there are “Pet Friendly Suites”.

Whether you want to cool off in one of the 2 pools, work out in the
state of the art outdoor gym, or relax in the steam room or 1 of the
2 Jacuzzis located throughout the grounds then this is the place for
you!

So
come and visit us and get a taste of the “Sweet Life” at
