Welcome to our second installment of the Resort Report. Last month we visited the Desert Paradise Resort and Hotel in Warm Sands. This month we will take a short drive east to yet another of our desert area resorts. This month we will be staying at Cathedral City Boys Club, or C.C.B.C. as it is commonly referred to by the locals. Your Hosts this month are the Owner, Richard Altman and his General Manager, Danny Montoya.

Richard was born in New York City. Richard spent over 40 years in marketing to the Hotel & Resort industry, specifically targeting the amenities of those Resorts& Hotels. He also served as the Executive Director for Thermasol the originators of the Steam Bath. He opened the Bowling Center on Ramon Rd. in 1979. He also owns 3 patents to his name. Richard took over C.C.B.C. in 2000.Danny was born in Oakland, CA. in 1946. During his high school years he was a member of the cheerleading team. After high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served in Viet Nam. Upon his return he worked for 6 years as a bartender at the “Hob Nob” in San Francisco, where he became “Mr. Tavern Guild in 1980. He attended business-college in Texas. After working at C.C.B.C. for 8 years he became the General Manager  2000.

The resort is located at 68639 Sunair Rd. in Cathedral City. the resort is centrally located between the gay Bars & Restaurants of Cathedral City and the Restaurants and Shops of Rancho Mirage. If you want to explore Palm Springs, then you are only 5-10 minutes away as the cab driver flies! This resort has an elaborate layout with something for everyone. As you can see by the following pictures, the owners and staff work endlessly to assure that your stay is both memorable and fun-filled.

As with everywhere in the desert it all starts and ends in the pool! The pool at C.C.B.C. is centrally located at the heart of the resort!

Some of the other amenities of the resort include THE WALK and THE COMPOUND...A Palm Springs legend, The Walk combines winding pathways, seductive alcoves and lush foliage to create the perfect experience. Commune with nature as you come upon a babbling brook, enjoy a seductive waterfall, or happen upon some of our "wildlife". You never know who you'll meet on The Walk - the man of your dreams or perhaps a new friend.

Adjacent to The Walk we have added The Compound, a secluded area for friends to gather and enjoy more private encounters. Great for private parties, The Compound has a separate entrance, lots of room to romp, and privacy. Ask us to assist you in creating the perfect experience for any gathering.

Continental breakfast is served all morning with an expanded continental breakfast served on Saturday and Sunday.

Open year-round! Relax in the sand at DANNY'S NUDE BEACH, a beautiful oasis created for your pleasure. New for 2004, we added a beautiful giant waterfall with a cave! Some of you may deserve to spend a little time in DANNY'S JAIL, a lock-up worth experiencing. And Men of all stripes can hang out at THE COMPOUND. Don't forget to check out: DANNY'S DUNGEON.

Comfortable, inviting and well appointed, we offer 46 rooms and 3 deluxe suites to accommodate every budget and taste. Enjoy majestic mountain views from your poolside room or simply take in the view of the pool and Jacuzzi where there is always something happening. Each room comes with direct dial phone, cable TV with 4 all male adult channels, microwave, refrigerator (some with full kitchen), private bath, and of course, air conditioning. We offer day passes and monthly passes for our visiting guests and locals. Long a favorite with locals, you'll enjoy getting to know some of Palm Springs' finest residents.

C.C.B.C. host numerous events and contests all year long. Everything from Mr. Nude 2005 on New Year’s Weekend (obviously this title changes every year…but then don't we all!) to Mr. Nude Santa on Christmas weekend. Check out the calendar of events on their website for more information & dates, as well as their list of very reasonable rates. For more info visit www.ccbcresort.com , or call 800-472-0836. Let Richard & the Staff treat you to a great vacation or weekend getaway!
